“Nearly Twice as Fast”: Field Diamond Cutters Proven by North American Customer
In a recent mid-depth drilling operation in North America, a 12 1/4” PDC bit fitted with Field Diamond’s premium 1613 PDC cutters delivered exceptional results. The drilling depth ranged from 700 to 2400 meters, with challenging abrasive formations requiring enhanced cutter durability and consistency.
In the 1253–2400m interval, the bit achieved 1147 meters of footage with an impressive average ROP of 21.44 m/h. In another run from 794 to 2110 meters, it reached 1316 meters in a single trip, maintaining a stable ROP of 10.17 m/h. Throughout the operation, the cutters showed no signs of breakage, maintaining sharpness and efficiency while minimizing non-productive time.
The customer noted: “The drilling results were impressive—nearly twice as fast as previous operations in the same interval. The PDC cutters showed no signs of breakage, and both the footage and drilling speed were excellent.”
